EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The DRC is an Equal Opportunities Employer which means that we give everyone the same opportunities
when they apply for a position with us, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or disabilities.
CURRENT VACANCIES
CAREWORKERS
We are currently seeking people in all areas of Southland who are interested in becoming Careworkers.
We require people to provide Personal Care and/or Domestic assistance to our clients. Experience is preferred but
training is provided.
The main requirement is a desire to provide quality services to people in their own homes,
working with them to ensure that they can live as independently as possible. This is very satisfying work and our Careworkers build good relationships with their clients, while still maintaining
professional boundaries.
While traditionally a low paid job it has now been recognised just how important this work is and pay rates are
increasing accordingly. We also pay a mileage allowance and provide a uniform free of charge. We cannot guarantee
a set number of hours per week but people who can be available for evening and weekend work will be offered more hours
than those who can't.
If you would like to apply or find out more you can do so by contacting:
Yvonne Johnstone - Manager Home Support Services
P O Box 1091
Invercargill
Ph: 03 2145000 or toll free within Southland on 0800 100 531
Email: yvonne@drcsouth.co.nz
or call into our Centre at 192 Spey Street and ask for an Application Pack.
All applicants are required to undergo police, court and reference checks.
